February 24, 2015, edit to web page.

This edit is added on authority of Janette Barbour, niece of  Francis French Cooper. Janette kindly sent the following statement concerning the "signature" on this hand written document.
-----------------------------
(Janette's e-mail received December  24, 2014)

I came across your website and wanted to give you a correction for this web page: Jesse B. and Eliza W. Thornton - other info.

Toward the bottom of the page there is an image of a note on Eliza Henderson obituary. The signature is hard to read, but I recognize the handwriting as belonging to my aunt, Frances French Cooper, grandaughter of Alfred French and Lucy O'Flying French. (It is incorrectly labeled on your page as being signed by F. Cooke.)

Note by Orsa's niece on clipping of Eliza Henderson obituary,  found in the family bible of Lucy and Alfred French

signature is: F. Cooke   (stricken / edited 2-24-2015)

Forgive me for stating it was signed by F. Cooke. Now that I have occasion to look closely at this I do have questions concerning the statement itself.  First, let me say, "there is no question in my mind that Orsa was very close to, even part of, the Williams, Henderson and Thorpe families", but it seems as if the "writer of this note" may have confused "Eliza Henderson" with another lady in her life? I am not aware of any child born to Eliza (Williams) Henderson named Helen. I am not a genealogist - I am not in a position to research this - and I may be wrong.
