The following communications, obituaries and records were made available to me after descendants of a 'O'fling' family viewed the markers of our own 'Wm W. Williams'. They provided the explanation for the relationship and the circumstances surrounding the person, Orsa O'fling.
Mr Hobert Henderson explained to me that Orsa is the third person in this  picture , with Aunt Effe and Eliza Jane (Williams) Henderson (Aunt Effe's grandmother). He explained that Orsa later moved to be with family in Oregon.
The following also serves to verify some activity of our Great Aunt and our grandparents, JB & Eliza Thornton.

... letter written by Aunt Effe to Orsa O'fling.

-----------------------------

Grandma Lydia (Whitehusrt) Williams died April 19, 1858. Grandpa Williams was again married, Nov. 7, 1860, to Maria (Orcutt) O'fling, widow of Felix O'fling. Felix died Sept. 16, 1849. Orsa was the third of four children born to this union.
(Orsa would be 30 years older than Aunt Effe. She was the stepsister to Aunt Effe's grandmother  ---- perhaps the greeting, "My Dear Cousin" was a term of endearment?)
