Bible Reading Schedule
The following schedule was first
used in the year 1910 in Kobe, Japan, as stated on it's back. The
schedule was reproduced, in it's original form, for public acquisition cir. 1982 with addresses
of outlets in Southern Illinois where it was available for purchase.
Records indicate that grandpa was residing with family at Greenfield Illinois in 1910? After serving as a Methodist missionary, first in India and then in Japan, he returned with the family to Greenfield for a period of time. Records of the Presbyterian Church, now Faith Bible Church, indicate that he filled the pulpit on occasion during the year 1910. Other records show that the following year he carried on some of the Lord's business in Chicago. David Thornton was born in Greenfield during 1911.
It seems he was "waiting on the Lord's direction during this period", which led to their return to Japan in 1912.
