Ruth Thornton

Born, 1901 in Havana, IL. -  Died in the flu epidemic of 1918 (Kobe) at 16 years

Knowledge of Aunt Ruth is limited, to say the least. The four generations photo seems to show Ruth as a baby. It is probable that this image was captured, 7 miles NE of Greenfield, IL, at the home of Edwin and Eliza Henderson, her great grandparents?
Great Great Grandma (Eliza Williams) Henderson on left, Grandma (Eliza Thorpe Thornton (b. 1874) is standing, Great Grandma, Lydia (Henderson) Thorpe is holding Ruth, born 1901 - died 1918.

This photo, a Phil Woerner
find, depicts the family while  in Japan,
date unknown.  Aunt Ruth is not  included
which could indicate it is
 beyond the year 1918?
.  Could it be a family photo taken prior to
 S. Watson's return to the US for continued education at Blackburn?

This following well known photo is shown

to Phil's 5/2023 find.

Ruth died in the 1818 flu epidemic in Japan. This photograph seems to show Aunt Helen and  Aunt Elizabeth (at one time I suggested one to be Aunt Ruth), brother Samuel Watson, grandpa, and several others gathered at what appears to be the retail outlet for the "school's" peanut butter factory in Japan.

Perhaps someone has more information on Ruth's life that can be included?
